Cake Toppers

As I was scrolling through Pinterest one day, I came across a cake topper I was absolutely in love with, but when I checked the shop, I just couldn't justify spending $210 for a cake topper. So I went about recreating it. All in all, it probably cost $30 to recreate, which is STILL more than I would have spent on a cake topper, but I do really like it.

Here is the original topper that I fell in love with, for reference:

And here is my recreation (with the clothes that Si and I will be wearing). Overall, I love it, and the cute little touches it has. I'm pleased with the way it came out, even though I know it doesn't look exactly like the original.

Tablescapes and Lanterns

As I've mentioned in previous posts, we decided to do yarn bottles for our centerpieces, and use paper lanterns to hang above the tables. With less than 3 months to go, it was finally time to bring it all together and make sure that my vision was correct.

I took a white tablecloth and covered the table, hung the paper lanterns from our regular dining room light, and set up the yarn covered vases. Si recently got me flowers, and they were on their way out, so I dismantled the arrangement, and used the roses to see what they would look like. (They are a dark pink, not the very light pink we plan to use, but they look excellent nonetheless. The last step was lighting the candles. I'm SO glad we've decided to do the centerpieces with the yarn bottles. It's just right for the feel we're going for.

Overall, we are so thrilled with the way the tables have come along. It's going to be a great carry through of our theme but without being too overwhelming. Have you been working on any DIY tablescapes yourself?

Wedding & Engagement Rings

Even though I've shown a few shots of my engagement ring, as well as the "stock" photo of both of our   rings, we haven't really shown any amazing photos. We will hold out no more! All photos personal!

Our rings are just so perfectly us! We got both of mine from Adiamor, and his from Reed's Jewelers. Have you taken any amazing photos of your rings to have as keepsakes?
